The Moon and Mars will share the same right ascension, with the Moon passing 7°05' to the north of Mars. The Moon will be 12 days old.

At around the same time, the two objects will also make a close approach, technically called an appulse.

From Cambridge, the pair will be visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 20:43 (EDT) as the dusk sky fades, 22° above your south-eastern horizon. They will then reach its highest point in the sky at 22:22, 26° above your southern horizon. They will continue to be observable until around 02:12, when they sink below 7° above your south-western horizon.
