From South El Monte , NGC2142 is visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 18:47 (PST), 44° above your southern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 19:14, 45° above your southern horizon. It will continue to be observable until around 23:02, when it sinks below 19° above your south-western horizon.
