From South El Monte , NGC3517 is visible all night. It will become visible at around 20:43 (PDT), 67° above your northern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 21:01, 67° above your northern horizon. It will continue to be observable until around 03:48, when it sinks below 21° above your north-western horizon.
