Objects and events on In-The-Sky.org are graded according to how difficult they are to observe from your currently selected location.
You will see the following icons around the website to indicate these difficulty levels:
| Events which are visible to the naked eye from Cambridge. |
| Events which are easily visible through standard binoculars from Cambridge. |
| Events which are easily visible through a small telescope from Cambridge. |
| Events which are visible through a four-inch telescope from Cambridge. |
| Events which are visible through a large telescope from Cambridge. |
| Events which are not observable at present from Cambridge. |
| Events which are not visually apparent from Cambridge. |
| Never attempt to point a pair of binoculars or a telescope at an object close to the Sun. Doing so may result in immediate and permanent blindness. |
