From South El Monte , NGC709 is visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 19:00 (PDT), 29° above your north-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 00:09, 87° above your northern horizon. It will continue to be observable until around 05:54, when it sinks below 21° above your north-western horizon.
