From South El Monte , Sharpless 173 is visible all night. It will become visible at around 19:00 (PDT), 46° above your north-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 22:30, 62° above your northern horizon. It will continue to be observable until around 05:41, when it sinks below 21° above your north-western horizon.
