From South El Monte , NGC1496 is visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 17:48 (PST), 40° above your north-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 22:12, 71° above your northern horizon. It will continue to be observable until around 04:44, when it sinks below 21° above your north-western horizon.
