Conjunction of Venus and Uranus

Venus and Uranus will share the same right ascension, with Venus passing 1°25' to the south of Uranus.

At around the same time, the two objects will also make a close approach, technically called an appulse.

From South El Monte however, the pair will not be observable – they will reach their highest point in the sky during daytime and will be no higher than 11° above the horizon at dusk.

Venus will be at mag -4.2, and Uranus at mag 5.5, both in the constellation Virgo.

The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible through a pair of binoculars.
