The Moon and Jupiter will share the same right ascension, with the Moon passing 5°26' to the south of Jupiter. The Moon will be 28 days old.

From Fairfield , the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 04:16 (EST) – 1 hour and 52 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 16° above the eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 05:50.

The Moon will be at mag -8.8, and Jupiter at mag -1.8, both in the constellation Cancer.

The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope or pair of binoculars, but will be visible to the naked eye.
