The Moon and Venus will share the same right ascension, with the Moon passing 3°39' to the north of Venus. The Moon will be 27 days old.

From Fairfield , the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 05:16 (EDT) – 1 hour and 52 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 13° above the south-eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 06:49.

The Moon will be at mag -9.3, and Venus at mag -3.9, both in the constellation Libra.

The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
