Jupiter and Neptune will share the same right ascension, with Jupiter passing 40' to the north of Neptune.

From South El Monte , the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 01:13 (PDT) and reaching an altitude of 42° above the eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 04:44.

Jupiter will be at mag -2.3, and Neptune at mag 7.9, both in the constellation Aries.

The pair will be a little too widely separated to fit comfortably within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible through a pair of binoculars.
