Mars and 1 Ceres will share the same right ascension, with Mars passing 7°25' to the north of 1 Ceres.

From Cambridge , the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 01:31 (EDT) – 3 hours and 47 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 25° above the eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 03:54.

Mars will be at mag 0.6 in the constellation Aries, and 1 Ceres at mag 9.1 in the neighbouring constellation of Cetus.
