The Moon and M45 will make a close approach, passing within a mere 54.4 arcminutes of each other. The Moon will be 4 days old.

From Cambridge , the pair will become visible at around 20:03 (EST), 29° above your western horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. They will then sink towards the horizon, setting 3 hours and 37 minutes after the Sun at 22:56.

The Moon will be at mag -10.4; and M45 will be at mag 1.3. Both objects will lie in the constellation Taurus.

They will be a little too widely separated to fit comfortably within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
