Uranus and 1 Ceres will share the same right ascension, with Uranus passing 8°02' to the north of 1 Ceres.

From South El Monte however, the pair will not be observable – they will reach their highest point in the sky during daytime and will be no higher than 21° above the horizon at dusk.

Uranus will be at mag 5.9, and 1 Ceres at mag 9.3, both in the constellation Capricornus.

A graph of the angular separation between Uranus and 1 Ceres around the time of closest approach is available here.

The positions of the two objects at the moment of conjunction will be as follows:

Object Right Ascension Declination Constellation Magnitude Angular Size
Uranus 21h22m50s 16°04'S Capricornus 5.9 3"4
1 Ceres 21h22m50s 24°07'S Capricornus 9.3 0"0

The coordinates above are given in J2000.0. The pair will be at an angular separation of 50° from the Sun, which is in Sagittarius at this time of year.
