1 Ceres and 134340 Pluto will share the same right ascension, with 1 Ceres passing 9°32' to the north of 134340 Pluto.

From South El Monte , the pair will be visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 17:46 (PDT), 41° above your south-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. They will then reach their highest point in the sky at 19:20, 46° above your southern horizon. They will continue to be observable until around 23:02, when they sink below 21° above your south-western horizon.

1 Ceres will be at mag 8.4, and 134340 Pluto at mag 16.4, both in the constellation Cetus.

A graph of the angular separation between 1 Ceres and 134340 Pluto around the time of closest approach is available here.

The positions of the two objects at the moment of conjunction will be as follows:

Object Right Ascension Declination Constellation Magnitude Angular Size
1 Ceres 01h30m10s 0°21'N Cetus 8.4 0"0
134340 Pluto 01h30m10s 9°10'S Cetus 16.4 0"0

The coordinates above are given in J2000.0. The pair will be at an angular separation of 111° from the Sun, which is in Sagittarius at this time of year.
