The Moon and Mercury will share the same right ascension, with the Moon passing 4°18' to the north of Mercury. The Moon will be 28 days old.

From New York City , the pair will be visible from soon after it rises, at 04:28, until soon before it sets at 19:06. Always take extreme caution when trying to make daytime observations of the Moon while the Sun is above the horizon.
