Mars and Uranus will share the same right ascension, with Mars passing 1°21' to the south of Uranus.
At around the same time, the two objects will also make a close approach, technically called an appulse.
From South El Monte , the pair will be visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 21:01 (PDT), 27° above your south-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. They will then reach their highest point in the sky at 23:33, 38° above your southern horizon. They will continue to be observable until around 02:49, when they sink below 20° above your south-western horizon.
Mars will be at mag -1.8, and Uranus at mag 5.4, both in the constellation Libra.
The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible through a pair of binoculars.
