The Moon and Saturn will share the same right ascension, with the Moon passing 3°42' to the south of Saturn. The Moon will be 12 days old.

From Cambridge , the pair will be visible in the evening sky, becoming accessible around 20:10 (EDT), 13° above your south-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. They will then reach their highest point in the sky at 23:30, 28° above your southern horizon. They will continue to be observable until around 03:11, when they sink below 10° above your south-western horizon.

The Moon will be at mag -12.6, and Saturn at mag 0.2, both in the constellation Capricornus.

The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
