From Fairfield , the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 01:10 (EDT) and reaching an altitude of 31° above the south-eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 04:05.
1 Ceres will be at mag 9.0 in the constellation Cetus, and 136199 Eris at mag 18.6 in the neighbouring constellation of Pisces.
The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible through a pair of binoculars.
